Dry Shampoo Comparison (Suave, Tresemme, John Frieda)

I'm just going to share with you my opinions are my experiences with these three dry shampoos!

I'll share with you the pros and cons (my personal opinion) of these dry shampoos!

Tresemme dry shampoo

Retails around $5

5.7 oz

This has become a pretty popular drugstore dry shampoo and I can see why.

This is the first dry shampoo I ever tried, so I have owned this one the longest.

PROS:

  Good smelling, like all tresemme products


• 
  
  Feels refreshing and clean when sprayed in hair


• 
  
  Volumizes hair while extracting oils

CONS:

• 
  
  If you have dark hair (like me) you have to be careful about having a white cast in your hair

Suave dry shampoo

Retails around $3

5 oz

This product came out very recently and probably still hasn't hit the shelves of a few drugstores.

PROS:

• 
  
  The smell is very fruity, like mangoes!


• 
  
  I didn't have any trouble with white cast even though I have black hair

CONS:

• 
  
  The bottle is deceiving because it is larger than the tresemme bottle, but somehow holds less product


• 
  
  I only used this product TWICE before it ran out! I know it wasn't expensive, but come on!


• 
  
  This didn't feel like it was refreshing my hair like the other dry shampoos did
  

John Frieda Volume Refresher Dry Shampoo

Retails around $6 (Most come with a $1 off coupon attached to the bottle)

This product is also new to the shelves and is marketing more as a Volume Refresher. Honestly, all it is is a dry shampoo with a fancier sounding name ; )

PROS:

  Good smelling (like a professional styling product would smell like..that's all I could come up with! haha)


• 
  
  Feels very refreshing


• 
  
  Volumizes hair while extracting oils

CONS:

• 
  
  This can leave a white cast if you are not careful, especially with dark hair!


• 
  
  The product comes out very fast and more forceful than the other two..which isn't necessarily a bad thing, you just have to be careful

I love the Tresemme dry shampoo and the John Frieda dry shampoo about the same, but will probably just get another Tresemme dry shampoo the next time I need some just because of the price factor!

Hair product haul

Well my CVS was having a sale so I decided to go. Some of the things I got were on sale and some weren't. Also, some of the things I bought I've never tried before but some are things that I am repurchasing because I love them so much. This is got 2b smoothing lustre lotion. It says to use before you style but I'm not exactly sure what it is to be honest.. the truth is that I was drawn to this because of the packaging! Isn't it adorable?! Oh, and this was buy one get one 50% off.

This is got 2b hot smooth flat iron & blow dry lotion. I got this one for 50% because I bought the one above. I couldn't find anything else to get my 50% off on so that's why I got this one. I already have heat protectant for blow drying and straightening from got 2 b (It's on one of my other posts) hmm.. oh well

TRESemme 24 hour body root boosting spray. I'm really excited to try this one! This is a whole new line from TRESemme and they have many different products called '24 hour body'.

John Frieda frizz-ease heat defeat protective styling spray. I already have this product but I'm about to run out so I needed to get some more! I recommend it! I have no clue why it says new on the bottle because it isn't new..my old one doesn't even say new on it haha Anyways, I talked about this on one of my other posts so you can read about it there.

TRESemme anti- breakage shampoo and conditioner. It says it reduces split ends and I really need that! My hair is very parched so I hope this can help give it moisture and protect it from breaking.

Garnier Fructis super stiff gel. I have used gel by Garnier Fructis before and just ran out of it so that's why I purchased this. I haven't used this exact one because it seems like they change the name and how strong they are every time I buy one. The reason I am repurchasing this is because of the smell.. It is amazinnnnggg. Most gels smell bad, but this one sure doesn't and it does what it supposed to do buy holding the hair in place. I only use this for scrunching my hair so.. it works for that.

Heat protectants

I soon realized that I needed to find a good heat protectant after my hair seemed to stop growing after blow drying, straightening, and dying it for years. So I'm going to share with you a few of the heat protectants that I have right now and tell you the ones that I like the best.

This one is from the John Frieda collection and it's like to keep it from getting frizzy and it's a heat protectant for straightening your hair. I use this on pretty damp hair and I usually spray about 6 sprays onto my hair and then I brush through it with my brush. I've found that this also works as a de-tangler. This is my favorite of the ones that I have and I will be repurchasing this one very shortly. (It has lasted a while even with me using it after every shower) This one is Got 2B guardian angel flat iron balm + gloss finish. I do like this one but I'm not really sure if I've noticed a difference when using this.

This is Got 2B gloss finish Blow - out lotion. I usually don't use this one because I use my one from John Frieda. Really the only thing I can say about this one is that I like my one from John Frieda better haha.

These were all purchased with my own money so it's obviously my opinion.
